    I am on FB at https://www.facebook.com/duke.wilford - if any other AXti.me users want to connect there, I'm glad to keep the contacts open.

    @JasonPowell

    Got the router reconfigured to host from the new machine. The crappy NetZero dongle we had is no longer supported so I switched to a Straight Talk wifi hotspot from Wal*Mart. The price for a month of data is less than NetZero and so far the service has been rock solid.

    We've had 2 events this year on the new computer (I had to cancel the July event due to excessive heat). So far (knock knock) everything is running smoothly.

    It does occasionally log the administrator out for no apparent reason. We've learned to keep a tab open on the Club Home screen so you can just click to that and log back in. But that is just a minor inconvenience.

    How are things going with you? I'm glad there are still users out here. We use the same venue as a regional BMW CCA chapter. They bought Ax.time a couple years ago after sitting in at one of our AXs, and they still seem to be doing well with it too. I don't think their T+S dude is on this forum, though I could be wrong.

    I do seem to be getting a lot of odd "Not Authorized" errors, where I have to log out and log back in to resolve them. Anybody experienced this?

    Wellllllll WOOOO BERKING HOOO!

    It's taken a few tries, but I have AXti.me up and running on my new T&S computer!

    Western Digital's restore software really sucks, but I was able to get around it and get the AXtime folder onto the new machine, Then I had some trouble with node.js, but I found the installer and after reinstalling, it runs. Then I had some trouble with restoring from the AXti.me cloud, but after a few tries I am back operational with the most recent data on the machine!

    Unfortunately we were having trouble with our NetZero dongle during the event last year, so no run data got uploaded, even though we got through the morning heat before disaster struck. That issue may still need to be solved.

    I have no idea if anybody still checks in here, but as a True Believer, I wanted to post an update. I just need to get the router reconfigured for this new machine, and see how the mobile internet works. But I'm 90% there.

    @JasonPowell :

    So I would download / install node.js directly form them, and then (I assume) the 2.3.7 Complete file from live.axti.me?

    I hope I can find my install files for the $10 non-profit Office suite I had. If not, that's my fault.

    Thanks again for your help.

    We had a microcell blow through our last autocross. Most of our equipment is OK or at least usable, but the main T+S laptop is suffering either disk or main board damage. It won't boot. It's an HP 15-F162dx notebook and I've never really liked it anyway.

    If I replace that computer, how hard is it to reinstall AXti.me and the supporting software? I have no real way to uninstall it from the old laptop.

    I do have a fairly recent drive backup of the main HP notebook, and I have a cloud backup of the AXti.me database from the night before our last event.

    Is it as easy as restoring the AXti.me folder from the backup and refreshing the database from the cloud? Thanks.

    I have a NetZero mobile internet USB dongle. It works most of the time, with occasional troubles, but is overall pretty reliable. It typically drops once or twice during an event, and needs to have the connection reestablished.

    But starting when I was bench testing on Friday night, and during the event on Saturday, clicking the Sync button instantly killed the internet connection and reset the dongle as if it wasn't even inserted. I would have to unplug / replug for the connection software even to recognize the device so I could restart the connection. When the connection was established, even without attempting to manually sync via the button, Axti.me was giving continual connection errors and never uploaded data. The internet connection worked fine for other sites.

    There were no known settings changes on my part, though there were the inevitable Win10 updates, since it was last used successfully in June. The timing gear input is using COM3 and the dongle is using COM4-6, so there is no conflict there.

    Any ideas or advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

    @sjd - I understand your point and share some of your sentiment, particularly your disappointment. However, I see no reason to abandon the system as long as it still continues to function. We paid our initial purchase price 3 years ago and AXti.me has not cost us a dime since then. As long as live results work on event days and the software is usable between, we plan to keep using it.

    So, is Chris still available for new sales? I have an acquaintance who ghosted one of our events last year and is considering buying AXti.me for his club, but the main AXti.me site seems to have disappeared and the FB page hasn't changed in years. This forum and the demo are still available, so the message is ambiguous. He's worried about committing to the purchase with zero support, if he can even do so.

    Anybody have information?

    Yeah, our day went off without a T+S hitch that was not operator- or environment-caused. Live results stayed up all day even through our crappy and sometimes uncooperative NetZero mobile dongle.

    Good stuff!

    @JasonPowell - That is excellent news! We also had very few problems last year, except for the OLR issues that were noted and resolved. I still have a list of suggestion open in the v3 thread, but like you, I'm happy to hear that at least the status quo will continue for the foreseeable future.

    Thanks for getting a hold of Chris, and thanks for reporting back to us.

    @JasonPowell - Absolutely. There are some minor inconveniences with the current software, but nothing we can't live with. As long as data backup and live results stay operational, we would definitely be willing to pay a reasonable maintenance / subscription fee.

    Personally, as long as the system continues to run, I plan to keep using it. If something breaks to the point of unusability or major inconvenience, then I'll switch.

    Right now, AXti.me is like a great but aging daily driver. It's getting old and parts are hard to find, but it's running mostly fine except a few of the little options. I'll keep driving it until it throws a rod or the clutch gives up.

    @JC - I've noticed that at our last couple of events. The runs are definitely there, but something is preventing the popup window from pulling them from the database. I have no idea what's causing it, but it's not just you.

    Hmm, I'd like to test this on my setup to see if it's a global bug, but I don't want to end up in the same boat.

    I've reclassed cars numerous times and have never encountered this issue. It seems like almost every event, somebody is misclassed and needs adjustment. I just did this after my 08 July event and had no issues. I'm away from my T+S computer right now but I can post version details later.
