Yes. That would provide some stability.

No. I am very concerned and at this point treat the software as abandoned.

I am getting a new error when importing from MSR. Step 1 works fine and i get my list of events, but when I click to import from any of them, I get this SSL Redirect Bad URI Error

    Any ideas?

We had two events yesterday and for some reason, they are not showing up on the live.axti.me website.

They showed up yesterday. We did the first event in the morning, then changed the date back to the 17th and made a new event for the 19th.

Any ideas? Of course, I left the T&S laptop at home so I can't check anything on it. :(

The Yaggi kit from us (SPS) or Farmtek includes the parts you show above and the extension cable.

We started bundling the stand as well just to make it easier...http://www.soloperformance.com/Yaggi-Style-Directional-Antenna-for-Farmtek-Timer-Electronic-Eyes-with-Stand_p_12255.html

It all depends on each person or clubs piece it together versus save a few bucks limit is. The end result is the same.

The important part is to get the antenna's on both ends up off the ground quite a bit. If it is too low, the signal scatters off the ground. I suspect that this is sometimes the issues with range on setups without external antennas.

Ditto the sentiments above. Health and Family over-ride everything else!

And we are super glad the product is staying relevant, I was not looking forward to switching.

    Has anyone heard from Chris?

We are looking at some format changes for next year that will require some of the features promised in 3.0 (multiple day events and or two events on one day)

AXTI.me is great software, but if it is abandoned, I am going to have to switch to something else.

There are several things with the Farmtek's to watch out for....(My company SPS sells the timers)

-Sensor Height. 10-12 inches works for everything (usually). This is lower than the "stock" tripods FYI and the stock height will give issues with karts. Too low is also a problem as only the tires of a car may trip and really low will lead into signal bounce problems off the crown on the road. Problems here almost always only show up at finish since the speed is higher.

-Batteries. Fresh batteries. New ones every day. Seriously, how much are 9v batteries? :)

-Make sure they are lined up as accurately as possible, Yeah, you can usually throw them down and they work, but I see them all the time not really lined up, or just barely, with one pointing off to the side or down.

-Antennas - I really recommend that at a minimum, you have the omni directional antenna for the base unit and Yaggi for any more than 100-150 feet away. The stuff is not expensive from Farmtek, and even cheaper if you source and build it yourself.

-Flip the eyes - sometimes the sun will get the receiver eye just right and all the sudden you will get missed or false trips. Swap the eyes side to side when this happens.

    Hope this helps.

It would depend on how you do the second event setup. A majority of our entrants run both sessions, so a straight copy works pretty good for us, There is no harm in having extra entrants in the system for the second event.

But, in theory, we could have two completely separate sets of entrants for an AM and PM sessions, in which case, event copy really doesn't do anything.

Any ETA on V3 and/or a feature list? Note, there is no wrong answer here...."When I get to it", "2017" are all acceptable. This software is not terribly expensive, is feature rich and as of yet, we aren't even paying maintenance.

I have a big event at the end of April and then won't have another until October....

@DaveW RM does support "modifiers" or as we call them, PAX classes. Sounds like you may be using some things in a different way than I anticipated.

It would be great if you could give more explicit details around the issue that you see.

    Thanks.

Are there any configuration "things" with this? Do I need to have the modifier name in MSR match the PAX class name in AXTI.me?

    Thanks!!!

When the event's Unique # per Class is set to Yes, I don't see that happening upon edit or creation. Could you provide more details on recreating your issue?

Is it possible to send our data to you for testing? There is nothing to recreate, if you try to enter a new driver at #39 in any class, it will not let it happen because there is already a #39 FS in the event (me). Ditto on other drivers, classes and car numbers.

I outlined the other issue above. Basically, we ran the event with all drivers in their base classes. At the end, I wanted to "bump" all the classes with less than 3 entries to the PAX rollup class (called INDEX) in our setup.

I did this by going to >Registration>{search driver}>Edit>Change Pax from NONE to INDEX>Save.

On 60% of the drivers this worked fine.

On 20% the system would say that (going from memory)"John Doe is already registered as #39 in FS. Your member database is configured for unique car numbers".

When this happened, I would change the car number to 39A and click save and it would be fine.

On the remainder, I would do all of the above (both steps) and instead of changing the original driver record to the new class rollup and car number, it would just create a duplicate record. E.G. if I searched for that driver's name on >Registration it would show 39 FS John Doe, #39A INDEX-FS John Doe. Times would still be attached to 39FS.

Is that error message regarding the Member Database part of the whole problem? I didn't see a place to change that, though I have debated starting with a 100% fresh copy of the software with no members to see if I could fix it.

    Thanks,

Does anyone know if/how AXTI.me handles importing classes with modifiers? If the modifier name in MSR matches the one in AXTI.me, will it match them up?

WE offer all SCCA classes at registration, but bump any classes who don't get 3 entrants into a grouped Index class.

Making this change in AXTI.me is downright painful. Sometimes, I can go into the driver's record and it works fine to change the class.

But sometimes, the bug/feature/issue with unique car numbers pops up and it won't let me change the class if someone else in the event, or who has ever run with us, has that same car number in any class. My workaround for this is to also renumber the car to something like 21a instead of 21.

Curiously, sometimes when I do that, instead of working, it just creates another record for the driver. In that case, I have to go to all runs, find the runs and reassign them to the correct driver.

Anyway, if I could handle all the bumping manually in MSR before import, it would be helpful.

We easily fixed one of these problems - there is no reason to copy the entrants in MSR since you can just import the same entrants into AXTI.me into more than one event. We are going to stop using AXTI.me to do onsite registrations and just do them directly into MSR. Very easy, not sure why I didn't think of it before.

The two events in one day thing is still an issue however. It would be nice if there was a flag for this.

Most computer people would never do this - but just in case you ever need to create a second event on the same day, make sure you just change the date on the first event to the day before. My wife went the other direction and changed the date ahead one day on the laptop, which confuses the live.axti.me site. :)

MSR Import worked easily and fine for us. Not sure what we are doing differently.

Also of note - it seems to over-ride or fix one of our major unique car number issues. When we enter registrations by hand, we cannot add a car 39EM if 39FS or anyone else #39 is entered. It does not seem to matter if the unique car number flag is set or not in event setup.

However, MSR does it correctly (for us) where there can be a #39 in every class, and when we import, they come into AXTI.me fine and work fine.

I would/will be extremely disappointing if I can't import from MSR since a) this is listed as a major feature and b) I switched to MSR to be able to use the feature..

I suspect that Tim wants to import because his events are rather large....I can only hope I have this same problem soon.

@Chris Any idea on timeline? I realize we ask for a lot, and you are apparently going to go above to offer us a lot, so I am not trying to be rude or pushy by asking. Please don't take it that way.

Also, and I assume this depends on the timeline, what is the feature list? Same caveat as above, not trying to be rude or pushy - you give us a lot with this software.

If I had the option to have more than one event per day, and the ability to copy entrants from one to the other, it would allow me to open registration for my march event. Well, I can obviously open it whenever, but I wanted to have our process set in case it changes

    Thanks again
