I'm just learning the software as i only bought it recently.

Does anyone know if the sessions in the event are scored and ranked separately for trophies and points? We run morning and afternoon runs, 3 runs per session, it's a different layout so we give points and trophies out separately. We use the % of the fastest guy points method.

Would the same driver compete in both morning and afternoon?

Depends if the driver signed up for both morning and afternoon, most drivers are present for both sessions. Essentially we count them as one event each.

The system currently doesn't support counting sessions as different events towards season standings.

However, there is a work around, you just create 2 events. You'll need to trick the system into which one is a "live" event for use with the timing hardware. To do that simply change the afternoon's event to a different date. Then when your morning run is finished, change the afternoon event's date to "today" and change the morning's date to a different date.

There is at least one other club I remember doing this. This feature is in the backlog, but unfortunately, it is a huge change so it will take some time to get it done.

@Chris , would this be how to make it work for a two day event day? About twice a year we go out of town and do Saturday and Sunday counting as two separate events each with it's own points and ranking.

@JC Since they are 2 separate days, you won't have an issue with the timing hardware. And if they are one-off events, you can setup the event to not count toward season points. Is that what you are referring to?

Not really @Chris . What happens is that when we do our "out of town" events, they are two individual events, and if everybody used motorsportsreg, it wouldn't be a problem, but we do have walk-up registrations, which we have to manually copy to the second event. They are both treated as separate events each with it's own result, work assignments, etc. it just happens that most people run both days.
